Tried playing Rain World a couple times.
after wiki-wandering and getting some inkling of an idea what to do so I didn't go in blind
I had a mod that allowed me to fly, but I died 4 times by accidentally slamming my Slugcat into things.
So I got rid of it.
I had trouble getting through a certain room that'd lead to a hibernation spot in Outskirts (the starting region) so I took a different path.
It was on this run that I'd encounter Magenta Lizards (Lizards are typically your worst enemy) and an adult Noodlefly.
...I was in a room not too far from that Noodlefly, and I found one of its babies.
I ate it, and it gave me 2 hunger pips to save for later.
At first I happily trundled on my laggy way, found another Magenta and considering spearing it...
And then that same Noodlefly was hovering over me.
My thought process during that moment was something like this:
"Oh, hi!"
"Don't mind me.."
"Wait, is it..?"
"OHNO"
I had angered mama, and she was about to impale me.
I tried dodging, but I also was willing to accept my fate.
...And so I died. From something that wasn't blunt force trauma.
To add insult to injury, that same Magenta Lizard I had thought about spearing nabbed my corpse. With the Noodlefly still attached.
Has anyone else here played Rain World? If so, have you ever had a moment like mine?
