It's somewhat fair to argue that a dishwasher is a shortcut but not entirely lazy.
As a teenager I lived in an apartment with a dishwasher, and it was my job to put the dishes in, which depending on the amount could be difficult to accomplish while ensuring it was able to close properly then remove them and put them away.

Since moving into our current residence, we no longer have one. This is my grandparents house and it's older than I am. My mom grew up in this house.
My parents have talked about getting a dishwasher a couple of times and I believe we do have one out on the back patio, but my stepfather needs to create the space in the kitchen for it and never gets around to it, it seems to be forgotten now.

Just as well I suppose. My chore is now to wash the dishes by hand, and they've already eliminated my vacuuming job by getting a Roomba.

No offense to your mom but to fear judgement for a dishwasher in an era where I am sure at least half the human population has them sounds like some severe paranoia that requires professional help.

Once in high school my best friend and I made a pumpkin pie from scratch one Halloween at her house.
We were kneading the crust dough when we realized we'd forgotten to add a pinch of salt. So my best friend's mom takes a pinch and kneads it into the dough.
This sounds like it should work right?

Wrong!

What it did was concentrate all the salt on one slice of the pie so the crust on that one slice tasted almost of pure salt.
Wanna guess how I know that?

There was one other incident where I alone tried to make Rice-a-Roni via microwave. I followed the instructions to a tee and microwaved in a glass bowl for 16 minutes and it burned and exploded and sent gross fumes all over the apartment. No idea what caused it.

I've been fully vaxxed for nearing a month. I had my second Pfizer shot on May 22nd.

After the first shot I had nothing but minor arm soreness.
After the second shot I had more uncomfortable arm soreness, sluggishness, slight chills, a light fever and a headache. Nothing that was unbearable.

Now that we're all vaxxed I'm starting to see my friends again therefore it was absolutely worth it and I would 100% do it again though I'd probably go for Johnson & Johnson and I am now hearing that it's supposed to be the best and that it has no side effects.

- That people don't say "excuse me" around here. At least not to me.
When I'm in someone's path in a store or somewhere public, the person I am with ends up having to tell me to move like I'm a fucking 5-year-old because the person just stands behind me waiting for eyes to grow out of the back of my head.

- When people assume they know how I feel or what my intentions are rather than asking me.

- People telling me what I should do to fit in.

My mom got her first dose yesterday and thus far has been fine as far as I can tell. She's at work right now.

I'm getting my first dose on Saturday and I don't like @Aisukohi: 's reveal that it's a month's wait between doses. I wanna get it over with.

The potential side effects make me nervous but I am also excited to be able to see my friends again after over a year apart.

Heyo.

I've been popping in and out again after a long absence and I've just noticed that avatar previews are not working either in shops or my dressing room.

Anyone else having this issue or is it just me?

Posted in falling in love with anime characters Posted 3 years ago

Right now I'm crushing on Angel from Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel and Lucifer from Lucifer.

I'm not a huge anime person but I did once have sort of a crush on Koji from the 4th season of Digimon.

Posted in Worst Movie You’ve Ever Seen? Posted 3 years ago

Epic Movie.
At the time I wasn't so aware of the concept of parodies and when I saw the trailers I thought it would be humorous. So I convinced my mom to see it with me in the theater.
It was the most horrendous piece of trash I've ever seen.

So much hate for The Mist. I don't think it's that bad other than the ending I'll grant that. According to my mom who once had a Stephen King novel phase, the film ending is actually a lot more fucked up than the book ending.
I also have a bit of a soft spot for the film because one of my favorite actors has a small role in it, the Private that gets thrown out of the store to his death.

Several films have made me cry.

Click
Piglet's Big Movie
Tale of Desperoux
Marley and Me
Over the Moon

I'm sure there are at least a few others but these are the ones I remember.

Really beautiful shot.

It doesn't snow here. It HAS but it's an extremely rare freak thing and the last time it happened was before I was born, February 5th, 1976 according to Google. My mom was 14.

Damn, I feel you. That sounds like 13-year-old me after Oral Surgery.
I wish you a fast recovery.

Posted in Dark Crystal, anyone? Posted 5 years ago

@Rare: Indeed. I do feel somewhat like in a whimsical world where trees can speak and being can visually share their memories, salvation is possible. Such as how they got away with temporarily killing off Mother Aghrah, a character who is unable to be killed off indefinitely since she's in the original film.

Posted in Dark Crystal, anyone? Posted 5 years ago

My friends and I just finished it.
We hope there will be a second season though it's difficult to remember that these characters all have to die for this series to properly lead up to the film.
