As a child, it meant no school for two weeks. As an adult, it is another day. My upbringing is that of a family who does not participate in holidays, barring any social events Mother has us go to.

Too much salt. I do not understand why Mother always finds it necessary to salt eggs, and not a pinch of salt. It is all I can taste.

I intended to, only to wake and find that Father already did.

The exchange of gifts is not done within my family, so I have no list. If I had to make one, I would have to find a book store and select several books that I lack.

It does mean less for the next day.
