Been recovering from a septoplasty for the last 4 days and it has been so agonizing. I was reassured by every surgeon, nurse, and even the anesthesiologist that this surgery would be so “easy” and “virtually painless” and that recovery would be a breeze, but it’s been the complete opposite. I’m so exhausted. I so desperately want this to be over. Constant pain, headaches, nausea, discomfort. My nose and cheeks are so swollen. I’m getting no sleep, barely able to eat. Ugh. I can’t do anything at this point but complain and even that isn’t giving me any relief. On top of this, I have a whole slew of other medical issues popping up at the exact same time and it’s causing me so much stress and anxiety. I feel like I’m completely falling apart. I want nothing more than to sit on the bathroom floor and cry but even that is too painful.

@Izayoi: Your Lie is too sad for me, but I know the story. Nodame is my husband's favorite music anime. He said that Carole and Tuesday might be better. My favorite music anime is Nana. <333 I also love Full Moon wo Sagashite and Gravitation.

omgosh how could I forget Nana! I never saw the anime but the manga is so wonderful! I really need to re-read that now. It’s been nearly a decade or longer, wow. I remember reading it in Shoujo Beat as a little girl.
I’m familiar with both Full Moon and Gravitation as well! I’m a big fan of older anime, haha. What other genres do you like?

@Izayoi: Yeah I super recommend it, but I do have a soft spot for anime's that talk about music.

I really need to watch it. I remember seeing the trailer for it and thinking it was so beautiful. Are you a fan of Your Lie In April or Nodame Cantabile, then? I think those are the only two music-centric anime I know. Are you a musician yourself?

@Izayoi: That's great. I'm glad that the pain is less. Avatar forums are a great way to pass time.
The welcome forum is ok to keep chatting in, but if you want to chat elsewhere I don't have a hangout. I just hangout everywhere. ^^; I do have a thread in the event forum but that ends today.
I was watching Iruma-kun. I've been watching Carole and Tuesday.

Ah, well if it’s okay to continue chatting in then no problem. Carole and Tuesday! That’s been on my watch list for a while now. Do you recommend it? It looks so beautiful and I love the art style. I’m a huge fan of Studio Bones.

Anyone here a fan of the Animal Crossing games? They hold a special place in my heart. I’ve pretty much grown up alongside them.

Here are some questions to get a discussion rolling:

• Do you have a favorite game in the series?
• Are you excited for New Horizons? What new features excite you the most?
• Do you have any favorite villagers?
• Do you have a favorite furniture series?
• Do you have a favorite season or event?
• What is your ideal starting fruit?

I really love all the games (even including the less than ideal Pocket Camp) but I think I poured the most hours into Wild World. I’m super stoked for New Horizons and love all the visual upgrades they’ve done. Skin tones, noses, curly hair, knees! Feels kind of weird getting excited for simple stuff like that, haha.
My favorite villagers are Rosie and Bunnie. I really love the mushroom furniture and anything I can use to make my home a little fairy forest. I love Spring and don’t really have a specific favorite event. New Year’s is always fun and heartwarming to experience in game though. And I always make sure my town starts with peaches!
How about you?

@Izayoi: ouch that suck. Do you wanna talk about when and what it was? You don’t have to though ^^;
I’m good. Just watching anime. Thank you. I’m glad to like it ^^

Yeah sure! It was a septoplasty and inferior turbinate reduction. It was to fix the deviated septum in my nose. The first two days were so painful and awful, but I’m on my third day now and a lot of the pain is clearing up. Hoping when it’s healed I’ll finally be able to breathe out of my left nostril!

What anime are you currently watching? I’m a huge anime fan as well. (*・ω・)ノ
And do you have a hangout I could join you in? I would love to keep chatting but feel kinda bad clogging up the welcome forum, haha.

@Izayoi: You're Welcome. How are you?

I’ve been better, actually! I’m currently recovering from surgery so I’m in a bit of pain and a little out of it. But thanks for asking! How are you?
I love your avatar, by the way. Those colors are really beautiful.

Posted in Which book(s) had a significant impact on you? Posted 4 years ago
House of Leaves by Mark Z. Danielewski. Not particularly because of the story/plot, but because it completely changed my view on just how innovative and unique an author can get while writing. The way he broke and reformatted everything I thought I knew about literature and creates an entire adventure within an adventure. I’ve never read another book like it.
