The Sims fandom/community is the most toxic and nostalgia blinded fandom I've ever seen since 2 was released 18 years ago. I remember when Sims 3 came out in 2009, the same people who used to hate 2 (and suddenly loves 2 as if it's a sacred cow) moved their hatred to 3 while it was still active in said year until 2013. When Sims 4 came out, those same people started to like 3 and ended up hating 4 and well as hating/sending insults to those who genuinely like Sims 4 over 3/2/1.

Guess what, not everyone likes Sims 3, 2 or 1, Stacy. And heck forbid you if you tried to explain why you don't like the older Sims games (besides 4) because those nostalgia blinded Simmers/fans will eventually attack you for saying 3/2/1 is flawed and has much poorer gameplay/CAS/whatever than 4. As for the CAS thing, Sims 4 has better CAS options than 3 or 2 despite the flaws (mainly the issues with gender-specific clothes and how some of the clothes don't fit the sim's frame depending on the frame you chose, which I do agree they should fix it instead) and I don't care if 4's gameplay is simple than the previous two older Sims games as long as I'm having fun.

Honestly, people should stop fighting over which is better as it's getting old. If you like the game, fine. If you don't like the game, that's also fine. No need to resort to fighting. And people should take off their rose-tinted glasses and nostalgia goggles off when it comes to older games as they're just as flawed as newer games.
