I haven't read the whole series (yet),as I only own the first 4 books,but my favorite series so far is Anne Rice's Vampire Chronicles.

@Tink: I'm so glad you got out of that situation! I also have problems cutting out toxicity. With people,I feel like their comfort/happiness/etc is more important than my own,so I tend to not cut them out even if they're not healthy to be around. I also really don't like confrontation,so...
