I guess over time I've just been less active on avatar sites (especially with some shutting down, different site blackouts, etc). Then work and RL. I always end up back at my favorites, though. Can't stay gone <3

Yeah sometimes it depends on the activity on the site. Events going on. Different things to keep interest, ya know.
My main that I check into is Roliana (it's really inactive at the moment). There and here are about the only two places I'm active.

Like here for instance. Activity overall really seems to ramp up during events, which is awesome.

Some other factors are like, which sites are my closer friends on, which sites do I have homey threads in. Like on Roli, I gotta check in on the Charity I own.
One day hopefully I'll end up having one here, too. It's one of my favorite things to do.
Luckily Voltra still seems fairly active in comparison to some other sites. I think it has a lot to do with the activity of the staff and how hard they've worked. Overall I think it's been a rough last handful of years for avatar sites in general.

@Nalightful: That is true. Activity, and by that I do mean more personal activity, does matter.
If your friends are on Site A, then you'd probably be more interested in joining and being active on the same site.
But if you don't ahve friends here, just means you gotta make some! XD
