@Amber Lynne: Nope. That jerk always has to go on carpet. (Or the bed!) so we can never leave him alone in a bedroom. Even now we have to always leave all of the bedroom doors closed at all times. Here I thought that we would be good cause everything else is hardwood, but instead he has decided to pee on our area rugs and the bathmats. UGHGUGGHGH

@eyry: OMG That is probably totally what happened. When I got him he was already fixed, but if it happened late with the first owner that would make a lot of sense. The marking has cost me a lot of money over the years.
Also when I left my old condo, I got the carpet cleaned in my bedroom, I didn't even live there for two years and not even the carpet cleaner could believe how much there was in the carpet. I was so embarrassed. Like if even the carpet cleaner has that reaction, you know it's a lot.

@eyry: That's exactly what I told my husband! Like if he cleans nasty carpets all day and he was like, wow that was a lot of urine. Like how much did the dog pee in there! We knew he was cause you could smell it, and we even bought one of those good wet vacuum at home carpet cleaners, but it was never enough.
