playing piano, guitar, and/or singing at cafes
local setting, smallscale, but a venue supportive enough to let me do acoustic screamo

Probably something art related tbh. But I’m afraid I wouldn’t be able to be motivated enough to improve enough to make that happen, but I can dream right? xD

I've always wanted to make a living off of my art, and that will always be a side-dream of mine... but in my old age I've discovered something I'm more passionate about. My dream job is working with the developmentally disabled. Sadly, I either have to have a lot of education that I probably can't afford time or money wise OR I'd have to be able to drive. These set-backs mean that my dream job might stay a dream for a while.
I used to think I wanted to make a living off my art, but what I really want is to make a living doing something I enjoy while enjoying my art for me on my own time.
What I REALLY want to do...
I want to become the Nook.
I want the connections and know how and assets to really help people live their best lives.
I want to make things and be self-employed so I can work at home and not stress myself to death.
The problems with that are: 1, I don't know what kinds of things I would be able to make, because my current living situation doesn't afford me the luxury of space to try any sort of crafts. And 2, Most art/craft-related things will probably never progress beyond "hobby" level, considering the over-saturated market full of much more skilled and experienced people who have money and connections. At best, I could manage to make some money on the side, and if I got really lucky, maybe I could take reduced hours at my regular job... but I'd never be able to leave it.

Another artist, here...
I would love to be a successful freelance artist.
Maybe have a certain specification, like freelance art for museums.
Get paid to stay home and draw depictions of dinosaurs for museum displays,
or structures for textbooks. Something with a concise theme, for the sake of keeping work.
I'd also love to work with dogs. Either being paid to just take care of them,
or training dogs for therapy work. Nothing makes me happier than being with them.
@Kitalpha Hart: Honestly, that's how I feel.
@boyrrito: That would be cool. ^^ You could do that on the side? I know people that have day jobs and still have a band that sings at gigs.
@Kairie: Dreaming is important, I think. ^^
@eyry: Calligraphy is so beautiful.
@Glume: That's a noble job, and it's a job that's in high demand.
@pachi: Maybe you could moonlight as an artist? I know it's a lot of work but you have the skills.
@Priestess of Pie: Like a financial person?
@Count Trashula: I feel that. Housing is so expensive and people can't give up their day jobs, they don't have any extra space and a lot of people have to work more than one job.
@Booderdooder: Honestly, you should look up job opening for the various museums in DC. I know it's not where you live now, but it could really happen. (You could also check in your local area first)
