It's apparently a feature of the new AR camera from your pokebank, because a Smeargle will then appear on that spot you took the photo so that you can catch it :D

One of my best friends is amazing though. She says she can't draw, but god can she color xD I'm tempted to poke her and send her the line art i've done this event and ask her to color them for me. xD
