If anyone would like to re-add me or donate some things to my island, I would be very grateful. I was devastated when my island was wiped and Nintendo wasn’t able to get it back for me.

@PoeticTorment: thanks. I was really really sad when it happened. I got a new switch when my original wasn’t working, moved all the save data off and my account and thought that also meant my island. But no, you can just transfer the save data. You have to go into the game and allow the transfer. I don’t know why they made it different than every other game in the universe but they did.
I had wiped my old switch by the time I contacted Nintendo and asked them why my island was gone.
